St. Louis Blues prospect Colten Ellis was named to Canada's roster on Friday for the 2024 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland.
The goalie, a third round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft currently toiling the net for Springfield of the American Hockey League, is 8-4-2 with a 2.70 goals-against average and .918 save percentage; he's currently 6-0-2 in his past eight starts with a 2.59 GAA and .923 save percentage.
This will be Ellis’ second time representing Canada after appearing in the 2018 U-18 World Junior Championship.
The Spengler Cup is an annual international invitational hockey tournament and be held Dec. 26-31. It is often cited as the oldest international invitational ice hockey tournament in the world.
It's been a heck of a couple days for Blues prospects internationally. When defenseman Colin Ralph was named to USA's World Junior Championship roster on Thursday, it gave the Blues a record nine players at the U-20 WJC.
