Leading up to the 2025 NHL trade deadline, former St. Louis Blues captain Ryan O'Reilly was among the league's top trade candidates. However, the Predators decided to keep the 34-year-old forward around, and it is a decision they likely do not regret right now.

O'Reilly is currently playing some of his best hockey of the season, as he has two goals and six points over his last five games. He also has eight points over his previous eight contests as well, so he has been quite consistent offensively.

The Predators are also benefitting from O'Reilly's strong offensive production. This is because they have won four out of their last five games, which is certainly a step in the right direction for the Central Division club.

With his ongoing hot streak, O'Reilly now has 16 goals, 26 assists, and 42 points in 62 games this season. Overall, it has been another solid season for the former Blues star, and he is only building on it with his great stretch of play.

The Blues certainly know just how impactful O'Reilly can be when playing at his best. He had an impressive five-year stint in St. Louis, where he had 97 goals, 269 points, and a plus-46 rating in 327 games.
