According to Expressen's Johan Svensson, former St. Louis Blues forward Jakub Vrana will be signing with Linköping HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

Vrana was one of the most notable unrestricted free agents (UFAs) left with August here. He could have been a solid depth forward for an NHL club to take a chance on, but based on this report from Svensson, Vrana will instead be heading to the SHL.

Vrana recorded nine goals, five assists, 14 points, and a minus-4 rating in 39 games this past season split between the Washington Capitals and Nashville Predators.

Vrana spent the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns with the Blues, where he had 12 goals, eight assists, 20 points, and a minus-5 rating in 41 games. He also appeared in 42 games during the 2023-24 season with the Blues' AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, where he had 16 goals, 36 points, and 54 penalty minutes in 42 games.

The 2022 first-round pick left a nice first impression after joining the Blues, as he recorded one goal, three assists, and four points in seven regular-season games. He then followed that up with two goals, four points, and a plus-2 rating in seven playoff games for St. Louis this spring.
