After being down 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Final to the Florida Panthers, the Edmonton Oilers showed great determination by forcing a Game 7. However, their bid for the reverse sweep fell short, as they lost to the Panthers by a 2-1 final score in Game 7.

With this news, former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Corey Perry's season has ended again in a heartbreaking fashion.

Perry, 39, has now lost in the Stanley Cup Final for the fourth time. He does have a Stanley Cup on his resume, however, winning with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.

Perry made history by being the first NHL player ever to play in the Stanley Cup Final for five teams. Unfortunately, he has been on the losing end far more often than not.

Perry has clarified that he is not planning to retire this offseason by saying: I've got more in me. I've got lots more in me - five more years." Thus, if he gets another deal, with the Oilers or another team, he still could get another chance to win one more Stanley Cup.

Perry became the 34th player in NHL history to secure four Stanley Cup Final losses.

In 19 playoff games this year for the Oilers, Perry had one goal, two assists, and a minus-3 rating.
