During this past off-season, the Tampa Bay Lightning traded forward Tanner Jeannot to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick. The trade was not particularly surprising, as the Lightning needed to free up cap space, and Jeannot struggled to find his fit with the Bolts.

With the Kings this season, Jeannot has provided the Pacific Division club with plenty of grit and toughness in their bottom six. In 66 games this season, the 6-foot-2 winger has recorded 84 penalty minutes and 207 hits. He also has seven goals and 13 points with Los Angeles this season.

While Jeannot's offensive numbers do not necessarily stand out, he has been heating up in that department as of late. On March 22 against the Carolina Hurricanes, Jeannot scored a goal and added an assist in the Kings' victory. He then followed that up with another goal and assist against the Boston Bruins on March 23. Thus, the gritty forward now has two goals and four points in his last two contests.

If Jeannot starts to produce offense like this more frequently while maintaining his physicality, he would become a very impactful forward for the Kings as they prepare for the playoffs. It will be fascinating to see how he builds on his hot streak from here.

In 75 games with the Lightning over two seasons, Jeannot had eight goals, 10 assists, 18 points, 97 penalty minutes, and 288 hits.
