This former Tampa Bay Lightning has been placed on waivers by his new team.
Former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Alex Barre-Boulet has been placed on waivers by the Montreal Canadiens.
Barre-Boulet's time with the Lightning officially ended this past off-season after he signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Canadiens. The 27-year-old forward made their NHL roster out of training camp but is now available for the taking with this waivers placement.
In 66 games over four seasons with the Lightning, Barre-Boulet had 12 goals to go along with 17 points. He was also a star with their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, posting 113 goals and 302 points in 294 games.
It will now be interesting to see if another club takes a shot on Barre-Boulet. If he clears waivers, he will join the Laval Rocket of the AHL.
