The Tampa Bay Lightning have made a roster move ahead of their regular-season finale against the New York Rangers, recalling veteran forward Cam Atkinson from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
Atkinson has played in 38 games this season with the Lightning, where he has four goals, nine points, and a minus-4 rating. While he has been sent down to the Crunch multiple times this campaign, he has yet to appear in a game with the AHL squad this season.
Atkinson's last appearance with the Lightning was on March 13 against the Philadelphia Flyers, where he scored a goal in 7:06 of ice time. He also has three points in his last four games with the Bolts.
Atkinson signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with the Lightning this past off-season and is a pending unrestricted free agent. In 808 career NHL games split between the Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers, and Lightning, he has 253 goals, 236 assists, and 489 points.
