    The Lightning have called up one of their top forward prospects.

    The Tampa Bay Lightning have made a notable roster move, as they have called up one of their top prospects, Gage Goncalves.

    Goncalves, 22, was just selected to the AHL All-Star Game yesterday (Jan. 10). Good things keep happening for the youngster, as he is now getting his first taste of the NHL.

    Goncalves was selected by the Lightning with the 62nd overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, he has been continuing to develop in the right direction, and this season has been no different. 

    Goncalves is having an excellent campaign with the Syracuse Crunch. In 33 games, he has seven goals and leads the team in assists (23) and points (30). As a result, he has certainly earned this call-up.

    With Tanner Jeannot being sidelined, it opened the door for Goncalves to get called up. He should now get consistent minutes with the Lightning, and the hope is that he will provide some depth scoring with them from here. 

    Lightning fans could see Goncalves make his NHL debut as soon as tonight, as the Bolts are going up against the New Jersey Devils. If dressed, all eyes will be on the promising prospect.
