The Lightning have an interesting free agent target from the Jets.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will likely look to improve their blueline this offseason. When looking at their group, it is fair to argue that their top four could use a boost. As a result, it would not be shocking if they added an impactful defenseman to their roster in free agency.
One name that immediately stands out is Winnipeg Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon. Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun reported on Wednesday that Dillon is expected to hit the free agent market this summer. He also noted that Dillon did not have extension talks with Winnipeg during the season, and the Jets have not spoken to the left-shot defender since their season ended.
Dillon, 33, would be a massive addition to the Lightning's roster. The veteran defender is known for his reliable defensive play and incredibly heavy game. He can also provide some offense from the point, which is a nice bonus.
If the Lightning landed Dillon, he would fit nicely in their top four and instantly be one of their most important penalty-killers. He is precisely the kind of old-fashioned shutdown defenseman that playoff teams like the Lightning always need.

Dillon appeared in 77 games this season with the Jets, where he had three goals, 20 points, and a career-high 241 hits.
