The Tampa Bay Lightning are staying busy, as they have announced that they have signed defenseman Steven Santini to a two-year, two-way contract extension.

Santini joined the Lightning organization this past off-season after signing a one-year deal with the Atlantic Division club. Clearly, they liked what they got out of the right-shot defenseman this campaign, as they signed him to this new two-year contract.

Santini, 30, appeared in one game for the Lightning this season, where he posted zero points, one hit, two blocks, and an even plus/minus rating. He spent the majority of the campaign with the Lightning's AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, posting six goals, 17 points, and a plus-10 rating in 58 games.

Santini was selected by the New Jersey Devils with the 42nd overall pick of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. In 124 career NHL games split between the Devils, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues, and Lightning, Santini has recorded five goals, 23 points, 298 hits, and a minus-8 rating.
