This Lightning star is playing some outstanding hockey.
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point has once again been one of the club's best players this season. This is not surprising, as he is a legitimate star who just had 46 goals and 90 points in 81 games this past season.
However, as excellent as Point was last season, he has hit an even better level so far this campaign. In his first 19 games this season, Point has an incredible 16 goals. With this, he is scoring at almost a goal-per-game pace.
Point was a scoring machine over the club's two previous seasons, as he had 97 goals in 173 games. This included his 51-goal season with the Bolts, which was back during the 2022-23 season. However, with how he is scoring now, there is a real chance he could smash that number by the end of the season.

Right now, Point's 16 goals have him tied for third in the NHL with Kirill Kaprizov, William Nylander, and Cole Caufield. However, it is crucial to note that Point has played significantly fewer games than all of them due to injury. This is also the case when it comes to Sam Reinhart (NHL-leading 18 goals) and Leon Draisaitl (17 goals).
It will be very interesting to see if Point can continue to score like this from here. He is not showing any signs of slowing down, as he has five goals over his last four contests.
