The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced that registration is now open for the Fall 2025 Learn to Play programs, a perfect opportunity for kids ages 4 to 10 to discover the fundamentals of hockey.
Beginning September 20, the programs will be held at seven locations throughout the Tampa Bay Area, giving boys and girls the chance to learn the basics of hockey. Each participant will receive full hockey equipment and take part in eight weekly one-hour sessions.
The Lightning Learn to Play Program is designed for kids who are new to ice hockey. It won't be open to those who already own hockey equipment or have previously played in an organized ice hockey program. Additionally, kids who have already completed the Lightning Learn to Play Program won’t be eligible.
Tampa Bay Lightning Alumni, including former players Mathieu Garon, Jassen Cullimore, Dave Andreychuk, and Brian Bradley, along with special guests from the Lightning organization, will be on hand to assist.
In addition to the traditional Learn to Play programs, the Lightning Hockey Development team will offer Adaptive Learn to Play sessions designed specifically for children with disabilities.
