
The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Thursday that GM Julien BriseBois over the next five years to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The donation was very moving to the Ronald McDonald House charity.
"We are deeply touched by the generosity of Julien BriseBois and his family," said Lisa Suprenand, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay, in a press release from the Tampa Bay Lightning.
"Their commitment to supporting our mission will have a lasting impact on the families we serve, while allowing families to be together and focus on what matters most - their child.”
The release said the BriseBois family was motivated by the Lightning owner and chairman Jeff Vinik's generosity and commitment to the local community. They wanted to show their support to a non-profit organization that provides for families in need.
"Recognizing the profound impact that Ronald McDonald House Charities has in Tampa Bay, the BriseBois family is honored to contribute to their mission of providing comfort, care and support to families with critically ill or injured children," the statement said.
The money provides funding for the charity to offer essential services and programs for families going through medical issues. They provide them housing, food, and emotional support and resources to such people.
"We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community through this partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay," said BriseBois in the release. "When I first met Jeff Vinik, he told me he was hoping that the Lightning could be used as a vehicle to improve the lives of the people in the Tampa Bay community. My family and I are proud to stand alongside him in trying to make a difference.”
The mission of the charity is to improve the health and well-being of children and families as they go through their darkest times.
The Tampa Bay outlet has four locations, one on Davis Islands dedicated to children at Tampa General and St. Joseph's Children's hospitals, and three dedicated to St. Pete at John Hopkins All Children's Hospital.
The organization is 44 years old, and provided care to more than 50,000 families with sick children since then.
"Family is at the heart of what we do," the release said.
