The Marlies' season begins with back-to-back games on Oct. 14th and 15th.
The Toronto Marlies are officially back for another season.
The Marlies announced their training camp roster on Tuesday, which features 31 players (and five injured), nine of whom were selected by Toronto in the NHL Draft.
Alex Steeves had a pretty good training camp with the Maple Leafs, but he'll start the year in the AHL, as will prospects Nick Abruzzese, Roni Hirvonen, Ryan Tverberg, Ty Voit, and Topi Niemela to name a few.
Maple Leafs goalie prospect Vyacheslav Peksa, who was said to be playing in Russia this season, is on the Marlies' training camp roster, which almost confirms he'll be playing in North America this season.
The other netminders include Dennis Hildeby, Keith Petruzzelli, Luke Cavallin, and 2022 Hobey Baker-winner Dryden McKay.
The Marlies will start their training camp with five injured players: Joseph Blandisi, Jay O'Brien, Keenan Suthers, Tommy Miller, and Matt Hellickson.
Toronto will host two pre-season games this week, one against the Laval Rocket on Thursday and the Belleville Senators on Friday. Both games are scheduled for 2 p.m. ET but are closed to the public.
The Marlies' season begins at Coca-Cola Coliseum on October 14 vs. the Rochester Americans, with another game the next day against the Utica Comets.
