Minten has scored four points in four pre-season games with the Maple Leafs.
Fraser Minten is getting another game to showcase his talents.
The 19-year-old will play in his fifth game of the pre-season for Toronto, which will give him yet another chance to leave an impression on the Maple Leafs' staff.
Minten is projected to center Toronto's third line alongside fellow rookie Matthew Knies and veteran Calle Jarnkrok. The 32-year-old winger has missed some time after suffering a neck injury early in training camp.
William Nylander could return to the wing against Detroit after Keefe said on Wednesday that it's not due to his play, but more so seeing how Minten looks.
John Klingberg is also close to a return after missing a few games with an injury. He returned to the ice on Thursday morning, doing some skating drills with Maple Leafs skills development consultant Danver Manderson before participating in the optional morning skate.
With the 31-year-old out, Simon Benoit will get a look with Toronto's defense, primarily playing alongside Jake McCabe. It's projected that Ilya Samsonov will get the start against the Red Wings.
For those looking to watch the matchup, it'll be playing on TSN4 for the Maple Leafs region, starting at 7 p.m. ET. For everyone outside of the Maple Leafs region, you'll be able to find the game on Sportsnet+. In the United States, you can catch the game on ESPN+.
