McMann signed a two-year, $2.7 million contract extension with the Leafs in March.
Rest and recovery are essentials for any athlete who is required to put their body on the line for an extended period of time, year in and year out. For Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McMann, he hasn’t wasted any time this summer. Already traveling to Portland, Maine in the latter portion of May, McMann was seen enjoying tiramisu in Italy via an Instagram story posted by his partner on Sunday.
On Friday, the 28-year-old posted an image on his own Instagram story showcasing the beautiful Comune of Positano, Italy, highlighting the stunning scenery and extravagant architecture. Known for its cliffs and pastel-colored buildings, the destination posed as a perfect backdrop for McMann’s off-season relaxation.
It’s no secret that his teammates enjoy the content, either, given their remarks on his most recent travel post in Maine, United States – displaying a series of pictures in an Instagram carousel.
McMann was not available for any of the seven games in the club’s opening-round playoff series against the Boston Bruins due to an MCL sprain that he suffered in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings on April 13. However, the Wainwright, Alberta native had career-highs across the board in his 2023-24 campaign, scoring 15 goals paired with nine assists, and appearing in 56 games played.
The Leafs re-upped with McMann in March on a two-year, $2.7 million contract extension that carries a cap hit of $1.35 million a season until his unrestricted free agent status in 2026.
With a well-deserved break from the lengthy NHL season, McMann seems to be making the most of his time and away, with hopes of rejuvenating himself for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
