Woll will play an NHL game in his hometown for the first time in his NHL career.
ST. LOUIS — Joseph Woll is confirmed to get his very first start in St. Louis when the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Blues.
Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube confirmed Woll as the starter on Saturday morning ahead of the club's optional morning skate.
"It’s where I grew up so a lot of good memories, a lot of family and friends there," Woll said on Friday. "I’m just looking forward to being able to go there and see them and play there so it will be good."
Woll, from nearby Dardenne Prairie, will make his third start of the season and it's the first time he will be in net for consecutive games for the Maple Leafs. He made 24 saves on 25 shots in a 4-1 win against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday. Woll played the Blues for the very first time in his career, which was also his first start of the season. He made 22 saves on 26 shots in a 5-1 loss to St. Louis.
Ryan Reaves will also come back into the lineup. Nick Robertson stayed out late to do some extra work so he is projected to be a healthy scratch in place of Reaves' return to the lineup.
