The Maple Leafs will be adding a Passion Meter inside the square, which fans can use to measure their levels of passion.
Maple Leaf Square is back for yet another year of playoff hockey.
The Maple Leafs announced on Monday morning that they'd be once again hosting the playoff festivities outside of Scotiabank Arena for all of Toronto's games in the postseason.
"Fans in attendance will enjoy specialty programming, appearances from special guests, giveaways, a live DJ, vendors and more," reads a press release from the Maple Leafs.
Fans interested in attending Maple Leaf Square for games must sign up for free mobile passes on the Maple Leafs app. Passes will be available at 1 p.m. ET the day before the game they want to attend. Fans are allowed to register for two "non-transferrable" passes per game.
There will also be early access to a select amount of passes for Ontario residents by signing up to be a Maple Leafs insider on the team's app or website. Gates will open — and are located at York St. and Bremner Blvd. — two hours before each game.
The Maple Leafs will also add a few activations to make the experience more interactive for fans. The Maple Leafs and Metrolinx have teamed up and "GO trains on the Lakeshore East and West lines will be re-imagined as the 'GO LEAFS GO' train," a press release reads.
There will also be an interactive Passion Meter inside the square, which fans can use to measure their passion levels with chants, outfits, and activity to win Maple Leafs jerseys.
The team will also have a 'Make It Merch' pop-up, allowing fans to turn their pieces of clothing into Maple Leafs merch. The pop-ups will be open within Maple Leaf Square for all home and away games, plus in the galleria outside Scotiabank Arena's Gate 1 during away games.
"A variety of Toronto Maple Leafs patches will be offered to fans at designated locations to transform an item in their closet, from a t-shirt to a jacket to even overalls, into one-of-a-kind Maple Leafs gear so that fans can show their passion, their way."
The NHL Playoffs begin on April 20th and it's likely the Maple Leafs begin their postseason with games one and two on the road against the Florida Panthers, who eliminated Toronto in the second round of the playoffs last year.
