Prime Hydration officially announced the sponsorship with Matthews on Wednesday.
Auston Matthews was gifted a Prime chain from KSI and Logan Paul after they announced a sponsorship earlier this week.
"We got a gift for you because we get this gift for all our Prime Athletes," Paul told Matthews before opening the box. "We got you some ice."
The Prime Hydration founders gift all of their sponsored athletes this chain. It began with the UFC's Alex Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya who were gifted the chain in June. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Aston Villa Women's forward Alisha Lehmann were also given a 'Prime' chain.
Following the gifting of the chain, Matthews, KSI, and Paul took to the ice to take part in some skills work. The 26-year-old center is known for his shot and he was put to the test, needing to hit all three Prime bottles. He did it with ease.
Matthews is the first NHL player to sign with Prime Hydration. The hydration beverage is also the Official Sports Drink of the UFC.
"I've always tried to pick and choose and be comfortable with the product, the company," Matthews said on Wednesday about why this sponsorship made sense. "It was nice to have something like this come along and it seems like a cool opportunity, so I'm excited about it."
Matthews signed a four-year, $33 million extension with the Maple Leafs in August, making him the highest-paid NHL player with an AAV of $13.25 million. The 26-year-old also has endorsements with RBC and BET99.
