The pair also called a game together last month with the OHL's Sudbury Wolves.

Toronto Maple Leafs play-by-play announcer Joe Bowen is calling a game with his son, David.

The pair stood in the booth, along with Jim Ralph, and called the second period of the Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets' game on Monday inside Scotiabank Arena. It's the final game on Toronto's schedule before the NHL's holiday break.

David does play-by-play in the OHL for the Sudbury Wolves. His father, Joe, did color with him in November. "Proud family moment!!" Joe wrote on X on Monday morning.

The 73-year-old play-by-play announcer has been calling Maple Leafs games since 1982. Bowen shifted from TV — calling regionally televised games — to radio in 2014, where he joined Ralph in the booth.

The pair call games on the radio with TSN and Sportsnet during the regular season and playoffs (Bell and Rogers split the 82-game regular season radio schedule evenly).

There were questions about whether the pair would return to the booth ahead of this season. However, on July 26, Bowen confirmed that he and Ralph would be back for another year.

"Not going anywhere!!! Ralphie and I are back in October!!" Bowen wrote on X. This is the 10th season that Bowen and Ralph have called games together for the Maple Leafs.

In August, the Bowen family tried out for Family Feud Canada. Joe posted a photo on X of what appears to be a Zoom call featuring the Bowen family, including he and David, with the caption: "Don't look now the Bowen Family has auditioned for @FamilyFuedCA."

The Hockey News Toronto sends their congratulations to Joe and David on the accomplishment of calling an NHL game together as a father-son duo.
