Toronto Maple Leafs centerman David Kampf notched two primary assists for Czechia as the team poured on seven goals in their 7-4 victory over Denmark on Day 6 of the Men’s World Hockey Championship – improving to 2-1-1-0 and moving to the top of the Group ‘A’ standings.

The host nation built momentum off the noise of the home crowd, scoring four goals in the third period – completely latching away from a 3-3 tie heading into the final frame. Uniquely, the team had seven different goal scorers for each of their seven goals against Denmark. On the team’s first goal that evened the score at one, Kampf found Jan Rutta with eight seconds remaining in the opening period, who buried a wrister from the point with bodies in front – beating Denmark goaltender Frederik Dichow.
Perhaps more impressive was Kampf’s second primary assist of the game, a slick toe-drag move on a 2-on-1 against defenseman Oliver Lauridsen, setting up linemate Matej Stransky for the eventual sixth goal of the game – extending Czechia’s lead 6-3.
Kampf logged 16:47 of total ice time while registering a +2 rating in addition to his two points. Besides being a top-point-getter alongside Ondrej Palat, David Tomasek, and Daniel Vozenilek in Wednesday's matinee, Kampf is averaging a point-per-game with four assists in four games throughout the tournament.
The Czechs have earned points in all four of their games so far, including two regulation wins against Norway and Denmark, a shootout win over Finland, and a shootout loss to Switzerland. With a day off on Thursday, Kampf and Team Czechia will play out their fifth game of the preliminary round on Friday at 2:20 p.m. ET against Austria (0-0-1-2) as they continue to turn heads convincingly.
