The apparent trolling took place during the first period of the Senators and Golden Knights game inside the Canadian Tire Center.
Even when it's not the Battle of Ontario, Maple Leafs fans still find their way inside Ottawa Senators games.
During Saturday's matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights in Ottawa, a Senators fan was seen on the jumbotron proposing to what looks to be his girlfriend.
Things took a turn, when a Maple Leafs fan wearing a Morgan Rielly jersey swooped in and kissed the woman while the Senators fan was on one knee.
You can hear the cheers inside the Canadian Tire Center when the fan gets on one knee. But you can also listen for the dispair when the Maple Leafs fan comes in to kiss the woman.
It's not clear what jersey the Senators fan was wearing, but one X (formerly known as Twitter) user said he was wearing a Ridly Greig jersey during the supposed proposal.
"Greig jersey and Reilly jersey. FYI," user Tesla Canadian Dad replied to a post of someone else describing the incident on X.
If that's in fact the case, it could be a prank relating back to when Greig took a shot at the Maple Leafs' empty net on Feb. 10 before taking a cross check to the face from Rielly, who was upset at the play from the 21-year-old Senators forward.
Rielly was suspended for five games a few days later because of his actions in the 5-3 loss to Ottawa.
While it's not known whether this was real or just a prank, it's safe to say the jousting will always be there between Maple Leafs and Senators fans.
