According to the Marlies, the opening day roster's average age is 24.57 years old.

The Toronto Marlies have revealed their opening-day roster ahead of their home opener on Saturday.

The 29-man roster features 16 forwards, 10 defensemen, and three goaltenders. Toronto's roster will have four veteran players: captain Logan Shaw, assistant captains Kyle Clifford and Joseph Blandisi, and goaltender Matt Murray. 

Toronto will also have 10 rookies.

Other notable players on the roster include forwards Alex Steeves, Alex Nylander, Nikita Grebenkin, Jacob Quillan, Ryan Tverberg, Nick Abruzzese, Roni Hirvonen, defensemen Marshall Rifai, Cade Webber, Topi Niemela, Nicolas Mattinen, and Mikko Kokkonen, plus goaltenders Artur Akhtyamov and Vyacheslav Peksa.

The Marlies also added Steve Sullivan to the coaching staff in the summer, taking over for Rich Clune, who joined the Anaheim Ducks as an assistant coach.

Toronto begins its season on Saturday afternoon when they take on the San Diego Gulls, the AHL affiliate of the Ducks, inside Coca-Cola Coliseum. Both teams will play each other again on Sunday afternoon in Toronto.

With Dennis Hildeby up with the Maple Leafs, it's likely Murray gets the start in the home opener on Saturday. Who'll start on Sunday remains in question.

Puck drop is scheduled for just after 4:00 p.m. ET.
