It's not only a big game for the Maple Leafs' players as they look to bounce back after a 6-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
But it's also a special game for head coach Craig Berube, who's preparing to face his former team, the St. Louis Blues, for the first time since being relieved of his duties in Dec. 2023.
Toronto's captain Auston Matthews expects the team to have a bounce-back game after their difficult loss to the Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
"Obviously, we got St. Louis coming in. Chief (Berube) used to coach there. We just got our butts handed to us a little bit. So, definitely take the day, recover, get ready for another game," Matthews said in Columbus on Tuesday night.
"It's a busy week for us, so there's no time to sulk over this. Learn from it, move on."

The Maple Leafs and Blues have had identical starts to their seasons. Both have a 4-3-0 record, however, Toronto has the edge in goals for with 22 and fewer goals against with 19 (St. Louis has 19 goals for and 20 against).
According to TSN's Darren Dreger, there's a "decent chance" we could see Joseph Woll get his first start of the season against the Blues. The 26-year-old has been on injured reserve with groin tightness since the beginning of the regular season.
This will also be Chris Tanev's 800th game in the NHL. He's played 799 thus far with the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Dallas Stars, and the Maple Leafs. The veteran defenseman has 33 goals and 157 assists throughout his 15-year career.
Tanev is tied for the NHL lead, alongside Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo, in shots blocked to begin the season with 25.
