There have been reports that Ohtani has signed with the Blue Jays, though no confirmation from the club or player has been made yet.

John Klingberg has been shut down for the season. So what does that mean for the Toronto Maple Leafs search for another defenseman?

Max Domi has added fuel to the possible Shohei Ohtani signing fire.

The 28-year-old Maple Leafs forward cryptically posted on X Friday morning, saying "LFG @BlueJays !!!" along with a GIF of Blue Jays outfielder high-fiving Toronto's first-base coach.

Domi's post on X follows what's been an eventful last week between the Blue Jays, L.A. Dodgers, and Ohtani. Reports surfaced earlier this week that Ohtani flew to Toronto's spring training headquarters in Dunedin, Florida.

It's not known what came out of the meeting, but it's been reported that Toronto is "a finalist" in the Ohtani-sweepstakes.

Prior to Domi's tweet on Friday morning, a large number of fans all throughout the MLB have been tracking a flight that's headed from Anaheim, California to Toronto. At the moment of writing this, there are over 5500 people watching this private flight that is schedule to land on Friday afternoon.

So, maybe Domi knows something. Maybe he doesn't. But according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi, Ohtani is headed to Toronto today.

Nevertheless, if the Blue Jays are in fact is the winner of the Ohtani-sweepstakes, it will no doubt be the biggest free-agent signing in Toronto-sports history.
