The proceeds earned from auctioning off the mask will go to Campfire Circle.

Dennis Hildeby will wear a special mask this weekend with the Toronto Marlies in honor of Hockey Fights Cancer.

The team announced that Hildeby would wear the unique mask to support Campfire Circle, a privately funded charity "that brings laughter and joy to kids and families affected by childhood cancer."

Later this month, the Marlies will auction off the mask with all proceeds going to Campfire Circle.

The organization has close ties with the charity. Joseph Blandisi, who's been with the Marlies since 2021, volunteered at the camp this past summer. He's doing an initiative this season where he'll donate $25 for every goal he scores.

The 30-year-old forward has three goals through 10 games this year.

"I just think, what [Campfire Circle] does for people that have got dealt a little less fortunate hand, it’s pretty special you’re able to put a smile on those kids' faces," Blandisi said earlier this season.

Hildeby spent time early in the season with the Maple Leafs after Joseph Woll suffered a lower-body injury. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 10 against the New Jersey Devils and stopped 21 of 23 shots for his first win in the league.

The goaltender then played against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 22, giving up six goals on 38 shots in a 6-2 loss. Hildeby returned to the Marlies on Oct. 24 and has played two games, coming out with a .938 save percentage.

Toronto selected the goaltender in the fourth round (122nd overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft. He signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the organization on July 13, 2022.

Hildeby played 41 games with the Marlies last season, winning 21 games (a Marlies record for a goaltender) with a .913 save percentage. He was also an AHL All-Star along with Alex Steeves, who's currently with the Maple Leafs.
