The forward has 33 goals and 50 assists during his 49-game streak with the Knights.
Easton Cowan continued his point streak over the weekend with points in back-to-back games.
The 19-year-old had two assists on Saturday against the North Bay Batallion and one goal on Sunday — an empty netter that turned out to be the game-winner — against the Guelph Storm to extend his point streak to 49 games.
Cowan is one game away from tying the longest point streak in the CHL over the last 20 years, held by Alexander Radulov, who had points in 50 consecutive games with the Quebec Remparts during the 2005-06 season.
If the forward can find the back of the net six more times in a row, he'll tie former Maple Leafs captain Doug Gilmour's OHL record of 55 consecutive games with a point, achieved with the Cornwall Royals in 1982-83.
Toronto's first-round (28th overall) pick in the 2023 NHL Draft has scored 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points in his first 13 games of the season. Cowan was returned to the Knights in early October after struggling to stand out at Maple Leafs training camp.
Cowan signed an entry-level contract with Toronto on Aug. 11, 2023, two months after he was picked in the draft. The annual average value of the deal is $904, 667.
Last season, the forward represented Team Canada at the World Juniors, finding the back of the net once and registering one assist through five games. He'll likely be on the team again this year — with a larger role — when the tournament begins in Ottawa, Ontario, on Boxing Day.
Cowan has 168 points (65 goals and 103 assists) in 142 games with the London Knights, since the 2022 season. He's scored 19 goals and 38 assists for 57 points in 43 playoff games with London.
The OHL Champion Knights made it to the Memorial Cup Final last spring but fell to the Saginaw Spirit 4-3 on June 2. Cowan and London's team hope to return to the tournament this season and win it all.
