Oshawa led 6-2 after two periods before the Knights broke out with a four-goal third period to force overtime.
Cowan picked up two of his three assists on the night in that third period and he has two goals and nine assists in the series thus far.
The Maple Leafs selected Cowan with their first pick (28th overall) in the 2023 NHL Draft. Seen as a bit of a reach at that position by some draft experts, Cowan has certainly lived up to the selection so far, winning the OHL's Most Oustanding Player award while setting a franchise record 36-game point streak this season.
Cowan has two goals and nine assists through three games of this final. The OHL Championship Series resumes on Wednesday in Oshawa.
