Maple Leafs Reveal Six-Game NHL Pre-Season Schedule for 2024

The Maple Leafs will play six pre-season games before kicking off the regular season.

After another disappointing Toronto Maple Leafs playoff loss, it's time to break up the core four forwards and that might mean moving on from Mitch Marner, who becomes a free agent at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Get ready to see a lot of the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings in the fall.

The Toronto Maple Leafs revealed their 2024 pre-season schedule and it's a little underwhelming.

Not that a pre-season schedule is supposed to be exciting, but the Maple Leafs will host and visit the same three teams they always do before kicking off the 2024-25 regular season.

Last week, the Montreal Canadiens revealed their pre-season schedule, so it was already known that the Leafs would take on their rivals on Sept. 26 and Sept. 28.

Last year, the Leafs took on the Canadiens three times. There is nothing special about Toronto's pre-season schedule. All of the games will take place in NHL buildings in each team's respective home rinks.

Last year, the Maple Leafs visited the Senators in Belleville, Ontario, the site of the Sens' American Hockey League team. They also took on the Buffalo Sabres near St. Thomas, Ontario as part of Kraft Hockeyville.

The best thing for fans about the pre-season schedule is that the number of games goes down from eight to six as many hockey fans feel the pre-season is too long.

The full schedule is listed below:

Sunday, September 22 – 7 pm ET vs. Ottawa Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, ON)

Tuesday, September 24 – 7 pm ET at Ottawa Canadian Tire Centre (Ottawa, ON)

Thursday, September 26 – 7 pm ET vs. Montréal Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, ON)

Saturday, September 28 – 7 pm ET at Montréal Bell Centre (Montréal, QC)

Thursday, October 3 – 7 pm ET at Detroit Little Caesars Arena (Detroit, MI)

Saturday, October 5 – 7 pm ET vs. Detroit Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, ON)
