This rookie showcase, located in Montreal at the Bell Centre, replaces the Traverse City, Michigan, event the Leafs have competed in since 2019.

The Toronto Maple Leafs’ top prospects are set to face off at the Bell Centre against the most promising players from the Montreal Canadiens’ system, the Montreal Gazette announced Thursday. Scheduled for the weekend of September 15-16, two games will feature the best young talent from both franchises. Fans are able to partake in the event with tickets projecting to range from $10 to $15 – quite a bargain to see up-and-coming NHLers in action.

This rookie showcase in Montreal replaces the annual Traverse City, Michigan, tournament in which the Leafs prospects have competed in since 2019. Last year, the club joined the Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings, and the Dallas Stars, all facing off against one another in a three-game weekend. As mentioned, the rostered players will only participate in two games this year. However, with the move to Montreal, it could add an extra layer of rivalry for players and fans alike.

Tickets for the event will go on sale next Tuesday, with all proceeds benefiting the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and La Tablée des Chefs. Each organization has plenty of promising players and potential NHL talent in their system, making for a highly anticipated and competitive weekend.

In preparation for these games, the Leafs will hold their annual development from July 3-7 at the Ford Performance Centre, the team announced Friday.

The full roster and schedule updates will be announced at a later date.
