The team took the subway from Scotiabank Arena to City Hall, where they participated in an hour-long scrimmage against each other.
"Willy's pretty popular. He's obviously very familiar with the subway and he's got his little crew down there, it seems," Morgan Rielly said. "He seems to know what he's doing.
Following the practice, the Maple Leafs made their way to a bus just outside the square. On their way, players signed autographs for fans who endured the cold to watch the team practice.
"It's always a lot of fun," Maple Leafs captain John Tavares said on Thursday. "A lot of us grew up playing on the outdoor rink, so it's cool [and] fun for us, a little skate, a little three-on-three tournament, that's always fun.
"You can hear and feel the passion, and the love for this team is incredible."
One player who made sure to sign every autograph was Bobby McMann.
While some were giving their autographs, William Nylander brought his dogs on the ice for a nice photo opportunity.
PWHL Toronto also hosted a skills competition for the hour before the Maple Leafs came onto the ice. Fans got a chance to interact closely with both Toronto teams, with one fan even asking Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe who he thinks will win the Super Bowl.
"I don't even know who's playing," he joked.
Another young fan pleaded for him and the Maple Leafs to bring home the Stanley Cup this spring.
"We're going to do our best."
