The last time these two teams met, the Maple Leafs fell 3-1 to the Panthers in Florida, with Marner scoring the lone goal for Toronto.
The Maple Leafs play their first home game since Nov. 11 on Tuesday night vs. the Florida Panthers.
Toronto switched up the lines at Monday's practice, primarily moving Mitch Marner onto a line with John Tavares and putting William Nylander with Auston Matthews. It's a move that the Maple Leafs hope can have an immediate effect.
As it appears, Ryan Reaves will be in the lineup come Tuesday night vs. Florida. The 36-year-old scored his first goal as a Maple Leaf the last time he was in the lineup on Nov. 24 vs. the Chicago Blackhawks.
It's a big game for many of Toronto's players as they hope to reignite their offensive game. But it will also be a chance to remain home for a little while after travelling to Sweden for the NHL Global Series before playing two games in Chicago and Pittsburgh.
Their homestand doesn't get easier as Toronto takes on the team that sent them home last spring.
"It's always a tough challenge," Auston Matthews said on Monday about the Panthers.
"I think they're a team that knows their identity, that plays very well together, they play the same way every night and they make it hard on the opposing team. It'll be a good challenge for us, obviously important points with a divisional rival and a good test for us."

The Panthers are coming to Toronto in the second half of a back-to-back after playing in Ottawa on Monday night. With Florida being only four points ahead of the Maple Leafs in the standings, it's a good chance for Toronto, if they get the win, to move closer to the top of the Atlantic.
For those in the Maple Leafs region, you'll be able to catch the game on TSN4, while the rest of Canada will be able to stream the game on Sportsnet+. Bally Sports Florida will carry the game for those in Florida, but the game can also be streamed on ESPN+.
The rest of the world will be able to stream the game on NHL.TV. Puck drop is just after 7:00 p.m. ET.
