The Jutting and Koster hockey camp was created by Minnesota natives Jackson Jutting and Maple Leafs draft pick Mikey Koster.

Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies was at a children's hockey camp in Minnesota last week.

The camp, created by Minnesota-born players Jackson Jutting and Mikey Koster, had several NHLers appear at the camp this year. Those players included Knies, Jimmy Snuggerud, Mike Reilly, and Brock Faber.

Koster knows Knies from his days playing at the University of Minnesota. The pair have also been teammates in the Maple Leafs organization, as Koster was a fifth-round (146th overall) pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Koster, a right-shot defenseman, is entering his fifth and final year at the University of Minnesota. He's played 140 games and has put up 14 goals and 55 assists for 69 points as he remains unsigned by the Maple Leafs.

Toronto selected Knies in the second round (57th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.

"HUGE thank you to our guest speakers at camp this past week for talking to our players about their hockey experiences and advice," the Instagram post from Jutting Koster Hockey wrote.

Knies was also a guest speaker at the hockey camp, sitting alongside Koster while kids raised their hands to ask the players questions.

The 21-year-old forward is coming off his first full NHL season with the Maple Leafs. In 80 games, Knies scored 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points, the seventh-best total among NHL rookies.

Knies has also been a massive part of the Maple Leafs' slight success in the postseason. The forward has seven points (three goals, four assists) in 14 playoff games.

The Phoenix, Arizona native is entering the final year of his three-year entry-level contract which he signed on Apr. 9, 2023. The contract carries a cap hit of $925,000.
