The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Jack Roslovic to a two-year contract.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Jack Roslovic to a new contract. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman was first to report the Leafs acquiring Roslovic, and TSN's Chris Johnston provided the details of it being a two-year contract at $4 million per season.

Roslovic, 29, is coming off a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers. In the past season, he's scored 21 goals and 36 points in 69 games.

Roslovic is more than capable of being a player to score 20 goals and 40-plus points in a season. In fact, including his stint with the Oilers, he has recorded three 20-goal campaigns, as well as a pair of 40-point seasons.

On Toronto's roster, Roslovic's $4-million cap hit makes him the sixth-highest-paid forward on the team, just behind newly acquired Colton Sissons at $4.25 million.

There is a connection between Roslovic and the Leafs, as the Columbus native was once linemates with Auston Matthews during their time with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

The biggest perk in the addition of Roslovic is his versatility. The 6-foot-1 forward is capable of filling in as a center and a right winger. With that, he can also slot in on any line in the Leafs' top-three forward lines.

His likely fit in Toronto would either be as a right winger in the top six or a center on the third line.
