The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed one of their highly-touted prospects out of Russia.

Nikita Grebyonkin has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Maple Leafs, which begins immediately, per his agent Dan Milstein.

The 21-year-old forward had a career year in the KHL with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, scoring 41 points (19 goals, 22 assists) in 67 games. Grebyonkin also had three goals and three assists in 23 playoff games, helping the team win the Gagarin Cup (the KHL championship) earlier this month.

Grebyonkin was drafted in the fifth round (135th overall) by the Maple Leafs in 2022 after scoring 64 points (17 goals, 47 assists) in 58 games with Magnitogorsk's MHL team in Russia's junior league.

The forward's cap hit with the Maple Leafs will be $875,000 next season, per PuckPedia. His base salary will be $787,500, plus a $87,500 signing bonus.

With Grebyonkin's entry-level contract beginning immediately, he'll become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season. The left-shot forward projects to be a player who can provide crucial depth scoring for the Maple Leafs in the future.

The Maple Leafs and Grebyonkin's camp are working on logistics to get the young forward over to North America for their playoff run. Toronto is currently down 3-1 to the Boston Bruins in their first-round series with Game 5 going on Tuesday night in Boston.
