The Maple Leafs are going with a line shuffle that they implemented in the third period of their last game.
WASHINGTON — The Toronto Maple Leafs continue on with their season-long 11-day road trip as they take on the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena on Tuesday. At practice on Monday in Arlington, Virginia, the Leafs moved Tyler Bertuzzi off the team's top line with Auston Matthews and moved him to the second line with William Nylander and John Tavares.
"I think it's more just I want to get Jarnkrok back with Matthews and them," Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said of the move. "The last couple of games I've started Bert with Auston and stepped away so we'll step away again here to start with."
Keefe also added that he wanted to keep Matthew Knies and Max Domi together after the pair combined for a pair of third-period goals in their come-from-behind 4-3 overtime victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
Bertuzzi has one goal in five games this season and was battling an undisclosed ailment, although he didn't miss any time as a result of it. The Maple Leafs signed the forward to a one-year, $5.5 million contract this summer.
The move will also see 19-year-old Fraser Minten stay as a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game.

Spencer Carbery served has an assistant coach with the Maple Leafs for two seasons before joining the Washington Capitals to become their head coach. He made a change with his defensive deployment and has moved Sandin off the top pair to skate with Trevor van Riemsdyk.
