The Toronto Marlies have brought back one of their biggest leaders for another year.

Joseph Blandisi has re-upped with the Marlies, signing a one-year deal with the hockey club.

The 28-year-old originally joined AHL Toronto after signing a PTO partway through the 2021-22 season after recovering from knee surgery he had the spring prior.

"I've always wanted to wear blue and white," Blandisi said a few weeks after signing the PTO in December of 2021. "When the offer came, there was no way I was saying no to it."

In 104 games with the Marlies, Blandisi has scored 27 goals and added 41 assists for 68 points in that span, all while spending time in the middle of Toronto's forward group.

The 28-year-old has also appeared in 101 NHL games, putting up 31 points, with the New Jersey Devils, Anaheim Ducks, and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Blandisi's return to the Marlies brings back more leadership into the fold. He was an assistant captain with the team last season and will likely be one again this season coming.
