The Maple Leafs selected the London Knights forward with the 28th overall pick.

Explaining Ilya Samsonov’s arbitration case with the Toronto Maple Leafs and why letting it get to that point is a loss for the club.

The Maple Leafs have locked up their top selection from the 2023 NHL Draft.

The club announced that they signed forward Easton Cowan to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The 18-year-old Cowan was selected by the Maple Leafs in the first round (28th overall) of this year's NHL Draft. He scored 20 goals and 33 assists in 68 regular season games with the London Knights of the OHL last season. He had nine goals and 12 assists in 20 playoff contests last season.

Not projected to be selected by prognosticators to go in the first round, Cowan felt his playoff performances with the Knights helped him move up the draft order.

The Mount Brydges, Ontario native grew up a big Maple Leafs fan. He was named to the OHL’s 2022-23 Second All-Rookie Team. Cowan got a first look at the team's facilities when he attended the Leafs' development camp last month.
