The Maple Leafs have announced their roster for the Traverse City Prospect Tournament.

The roster features 26 players, including 14 forwards, nine defensemen, and three goalies. One player of note is Matthew Knies, who played a key role with the Maple Leafs in the playoffs this past spring.

Following his final season with the University of Minnesota, the 20-year-old joined Toronto, scoring one point in three regular season games and four points, including his first NHL goal, in seven games.

Knies, almost instantaneously, fit into the Maple Leafs' middle six and looked strong whenever he stepped onto the ice.

Toronto's forward draft picks, including Fraser Minten, Easton Cowan, Roni Hirvonen, Ty Voit, Ryan Tverberg, Brandon Lisowsky, and Dmitry Ovchinnikov will be a part of the group travelling to Michigan.

Topi Niemela, William Villeneuve, Noah Chadwick, and Mikko Kokkonen, who are the four defensemen drafted by the Maple Leafs, will also travel to Traverse City.

The three goaltenders are Dennis Hildeby, Vyacheslav Peksa, and Luke Cavallin. Maple Leafs Assistant GM Hayley Wickenheiser said earlier this summer that Peksa was headed back to Russia, but appears that might not be the case now.

Toronto Marlies head coach John Gruden will oversee the prospects with a coaching staff including Michael Dyck, Eric Wellwood, Hannu Toivonen, Troy Paquette, and Harry Mahesh.

The Maple Leafs prospects will play three games in Traverse City. They'll play the Columbus Blue Jackets prospects on Thursday at 3:30 p.m., the Dallas Stars prospects on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and the Detroit Red Wings prospects on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
