With only 50 days until the Utah Mammoth kick off their 2025-26 season against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena, it is time to look at who has worn jersey number 50 in franchise history.
With the Mammoth just finishing their first season in the NHL, there are only 31 combinations for jersey numbers. Because of that, there has only been one player to ever wear number 50, and with that being Sean Durzi, it looks like this number could be tied up for the foreseeable future.
Durzi, 26, was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs but was traded to the Los Angeles Kings as part of the Jake Muzzin trade. It was with the Kings that he started his career and spent two seasons. After his second season, he was traded to the Arizona Coyotes and played there for a season before the team became the Utah Hockey Club, now named the Mammoth.
During that time, he has played in 242 games and scored 25 goals and 92 assists for 117 points. With the Mammoth last season, he missed a large portion of the year due to injury but still managed to play in 30 games and record 11 points.
Durzi is still under contract for three more seasons at $6 million AAV, which means there is a very good chance, unless he is traded, that the number 50 will be tied to him.
