    Remember the movie Ice Age?

The main characters were a mammoth, a sabre-tooth tiger, and a sloth. Well, as of yesterday, the NHL officially has 2 out of 3 covered.

Utah announced that their team will now be called the Utah Mammoth, and of course, the Nashville Predators' logo is a sabre-tooth tiger. Which means when they play each other, the NHL and both teams should absolutely push for these games to be called the Ice Age Rivalry.

As soon as Utah revealed their new team name, it caught fire on social media.

Fans across the NHL would love to see games between these two teams fully embrace the Ice Age theme. It would get people talking, and in-arena staff could have fun with it during TV timeouts or intermissions.

It would obviously help the games if these two teams actually developed a rivalry. That usually happens when teams meet in the playoffs, which definitely can happen now that they’re both in the Central Division.

And who knows — maybe someday another team joins the NHL, and their owner decides to complete the trifecta by naming the team after Sid the Sloth.
