Utah Hockey Club's Barrett Hayton will represent Team Canada at the World Championships in May.
Hayton, 24, has one of the most iconic World Junior moments in Canadian history over the last decade. During the 2020 World Juniors, he was the captain of the team and ended up being the biggest story.
He was injured and on the fence about playing in the gold medal game. He eventually did play, and in that game, he scored the game-tying goal, and Canada went on to win gold.
He now gets another opportunity to suit up for his country at the Worlds in May from the 9th–25th.
Hayton now joins Clayton Keller, Logan Cooley, Michael Kesselring, and Karel Vejmelka as known members of Utah who will be playing in the IIHF World Championship tournament.
