The Vancouver Canucks take on the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.

The Vancouver Canucks (24-18-11) hit the road for one game as they visit the San Jose Sharks (15-34-6). This is a matchup the Canucks have dominated in recent years, with a record of 14-1 in their previous 15 games. An important lineup note: Quinn Hughes will not play for the second straight game as he continues to recover from a lower-body injury.

While there are still a few months to go in the season, Thursday night is a must-win for Vancouver. If the team wants to qualify for the postseason, they need to string a few wins together and show they can play with consistency down the stretch. While San Jose is the 32nd-ranked team in the NHL, Thursday night could serve as a confidence booster for a few of the Canucks top players.

    Players to Watch:

    Brock Boeser:

One player who could use Thursday night's game as a confidence booster is Brock Boeser. The 27-year-old broke his recent goalless streak on Tuesday against the Colorado Avalanche and is averaging 3.5 shots per game over his past four games. If Boeser can keep getting pucks on net, he could be leaving Thursday night one step closer to the 20-goal mark.

    Will Smith:

Will Smith is having an impressive rookie campaign for the Sharks. He is seventh in rookie scoring with 22 points and recently had his six-game point streak snapped. Fans should keep an eye on Smith, as he could become a player who burns Vancouver for years to come.

    Vancouver Canucks (24-18-11):

    Quinn Hughes: 14-45-59
    Brock Boeser: 17-17-34
    Conor Garland: 14-20-34
    Jake DeBrusk: 19-14-33
    Elias Pettersson: 11-22-33

    San Jose Sharks (15-34-6):

    Macklin Celebrini: 17-22-39
    William Eklund: 10-28-38
    Tyler Toffoli: 19-15-34
    Fabian Zetterlund: 14-18-32
    Jake Walman: 6-23-29
