The Vancouver Canucks (35-29-13) kick off their final road trip of the season when they battle the Dallas Stars (50-22-5). Vancouver is 0-2 so far this season against Dallas, and has allowed at least four goals in each of the first two matchups. With a regulation loss, the Canucks would be eliminated from playoff contention, while a point keeps their slim post-season hopes alive.

At this point of the season, all eyes should be on the younger players in Vancouver's lineup. Whether that is Aatu Räty, Victor Mancini, Elias Pettersson or Max Sasson, Rick Tocchet and his coaching staff should be giving these players some opportunities to see if they are ready for roster spots next season. While the Canucks are still technically alive in the playoff race, they should be treating these final five games as a mini training camp to see who steps up before the end of the season.

    Players to Watch:

    Jake DeBrusk:

Tuesday could be a special game for Jake DeBrusk, as he is one goal shy of 25 for the season. If DeBrusk scores, it will be the fourth time hitting the milestone and the first since the 2022-23 season. DeBrusk is also six points shy of 50 for the season, and with a strong run, he could hit the half-century mark for the second time.

    Jamie Benn:

Jamie Benn is having another strong campaign and, like DeBrusk, could finish the season with 50 points. This could also be the final time that Benn plays Vancouver in a Stars, as the 35-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent at the end of the campaign. Even if he doesn't end up on the scoresheet, Benn will find a way to have an impact on this game.
