Canucks feel 3-1 to the Avalanche on Tuesday night.

Canucks feel 3-1 to the Avalanche on Tuesday night.

For the first time all season, the Vancouver Canucks (37-15-6) suffered their third consecutive loss, falling 3-1 to the Colorado Avalanche (35-18-4). With the loss, Vancouver's record drops to 21-5-1 when leading after the first period. This was also the Canucks' third straight loss to the Avalanche, with their last win coming on Jan. 5, 2023.

While Vancouver played well, luck was not on their side tonight. They had plenty of chances around the net but somehow couldn't beat Alexandar Georgiev more than once on the night. For a team that was on a back-to-back, which included odd start times and high altitude, it is hard to fault the Canucks overall effort in their loss to Colorado.

    Quotes:

Arshdeep Bains on his first NHL game:

"It was really special. I think I almost kind of forgot to hit the pucks on the ice when I went out there. I was just in awe of being out there, so it was really special."

Rick Tocchet on his team's overall game:

"I thought we played a good game. We had a bunch of chances, but we couldn't put them in. It was a well played game."

Rick Tocchet on the team's power play:

"The adjustments, we gotta start instead of deferring, shoot the puck. Be a little more decisive and get some pucks on the net. I don't think we're getting the pucks to the net, and we gotta make sure we start getting pucks to the net."
