Pettersson finished Saturday's game with one shot, a drawn penalty and two blocked shots in 14:10 of ice time. While he did spend the majority of the game with Filip Forsberg and Adrian Kempe, Sweden did mix up the line quite a bit, which meant Pettersson played a few shifts beside former team Elias Lindholm. Pettersson also featured on the second power play unit and finished the night four for nine in the faceoff dot.

Elias Pettersson, SWE vs FIN, Feb, 15, 2024

While Pettersson wasn't able to produce any points, he did have a decent night from an analytics perspective. During his 12:16 of even-strength ice time, Sweden held a 6-5 shots advantage and won the scoring chances battle 5-2. The only problematic area was that Finland was able to create more high-danger scoring chances when Pettersson was on the ice at even strength, finishing with a 2-1 advantage.

Up next for Pettersson and Sweden will be a matchup against the USA. Not only will this be a must-win for Sweden, but the game will also be the first time Pettersson and J.T. Miller face off since Miller was traded to the New York Rangers. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:00 pm PT and can be viewed on Sportsnet.
