The Canucks dominated from an analytics perspective in large part due to their play in the third period and overtime. Vancouver won the even-strength scoring chances 26-18 while also having an 11-9 advantage in high-danger even-strength scoring chances. As mentioned, the Canucks dominated the third and overtime, producing 16 even-strength scoring chances compared to just two against.
As for the heatmap, Vancouver did an excellent job at crashing the crease. The Canucks registered 12 total high-danger shots, with Dustin Wolf making 10 saves. Overall, it was a productive game from an offensive perspective, as Vancouver was able to surpass the 30-shot mark for the second straight game.

Shifting over to standouts, Quinn Hughes had a strong game in his return from injury. During his 22:58 of even-strength ice time, the Canucks held a 7-5 shots advantage and won the scoring chances battle 8-5. As expected, Hughes stepped up in a big way and helped his team secure two crucial points on the road.
To wrap things up, the trio of Dakota Joshua, Pius Suter and Conor Garland were buzzing all night. During their 9:10 of ice time, Vancouver had a 4-1 shots advantage and won the high-danger scoring chances battle 3-0. If this line can keep winning their matchups, it will go a long way in helping the Canucks secure a playoff spot this season.
