Braeden Cootes has six points in six games this season.
A key member of the Abbotsford Canucks will miss some time with an injury. According to a Vancouver Canucks representative, center Braeden Cootes is currently dealing with a lower-body injury. There is no timeline for his return, but the 19-year-old is expected to miss Sunday's game as well as the upcoming two-game road trip.
Cootes has had a strong start to his AHL career. In six games, he has scored three goals and recorded six points. Cootes leads all U20 players in the AHL in goals and is the only player in that group who is at or above a point-per-game pace so far this season.
After starting the season 0-2-0-1, Abbotsford has been on a heater with four straight wins. Cootes has played in six of the seven games, as he missed Saturday's victory with a reported lower-body injury. The AHL Canucks are back in action at home on Sunday against the Calgary Wranglers before heading to California for two straight games.
