For the first time in franchise history, the Abbotsford Canucks will miss the Calder Cup Playoffs. Abbotsford had qualified for the post-season in each of its first four years and is coming off a Calder Cup championship in 2025. Unfortunately, the Canucks could not build on last year's momentum, as they were the first team in the AHL to be eliminated from playoff contention.
The 2025-26 season has been a complicated one for Abbotsford. The team lost a significant number of players from last year's team and struggled to stay healthy all season. Through 64 games, the AHL Canucks have posted a record of 22-36-3-3 and sit at the bottom of the Pacific Division.
Abbotsford still has eight games remaining on its schedule. Their season is set to end on April 19 on the road against the Coachella Valley Firebirds. The AHL Canucks will wrap up their home schedule on April 4, when they will also face the Firebirds.
