The Abbotsford Canucks made multiple roster moves at the conclusion of their 2024 Training Camp.

The Abbotsford Canucks made multiple roster moves Sunday, loaning eight players to the Kalamazoo Wings. The eight players were Ben Berard, Lee Lapid, Jermaine Loewen, Zach Okabe, Joe Arntsen, Zach Berzolla and Jonathan Lemieux. In addition to the moves, Abbotsford also released Mark Cheremeta and Davis Codd, who were at the Training Camp on PTOs. Both players have ECHL contracts and will play this year for the Wings. 

As for the Vancouver Canucks, they assigned Josh Bloom to Kalamazoo on Sunday. Bloom was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres in 2023 and played eight games with the Wings last season. While he started the season at the pro level, Bloom went back to the OHL in 2023-24, where he helped the Saginaw Spirit win the Memorial Cup by scoring the game-winning goal in the final seconds of the Final.

Kalamazoo opens its 2024 pre-season on October 11, with its regular season opener scheduled for October 19. This season, the Wings will use different-coloured ice for select games, including Rainbow Ice, on January 4, 2025. Kalamazoo will also be celebrating its 50th anniversary this season, with plenty of events scheduled throughout the year.
